Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Have the colour mutations been crossed with Indian Ringneck Parrots?

A. Yes, but we have made sure by breeding them back to pure Alexandrine Parrots to ensure that the birds became as true to type as possible by always crossing back to pure Alexandrines. The fourth and fifth generations of birds are as big as the pure Alexandrine.

Q. Do you have a Lutino Alexandrine cock?

A. Yes we have breed males but they are not for sale as they are very rare in Australia.

Q. What are the prices of the Alexandrine mutations?

A. Dependant on the colour mutation and the generation. The 1st cross is a lot less than the 5th cross. This is because it has taken us 20 years to achieve this mutation.

Q. How can you identify the different kind of birds?

A. When the young birds are born, they will be rung with a stainless steel number in coded closed rings. This enables us to identify the parents and keep records of breeding history.

Q. How do we get the birds to our destination?

A. All of our Parrots are freighted in a ply airfreight bird box to any major airport in Australia. We have never lost a bird due to freighting. Birds do receive electrolyte prior to their trip. Orders for birds over $ 1000 are freight free.
